(Laramie, WY) – While things at the University of Wyoming slow down a bit during the summer, it is also when many future Cowboys and Cowgirls attend orientation and get to know their surroundings before fulling diving into college life in late August.
One, especially large, visitor took a self-guided campus tour Tuesday. So large and out-of-place in fact, the University of Wyoming Police Department had to make a few calls.
Campus officials stated they were not positive whether the fella wanted to major in “moose-ic” or perhaps “antler-opology,” but we have confirmed that the NCAA prohibits recruits with four legs from joining football coach Jay Sawvel’s squad. (Imagine that at EDGE rusher versus Colorado State though..)
Ultimately, thanks to the UW Police and the Albany County Game & Fish Department, it was decided the best move for this visitor was to transfer elsewhere.
On a more serious note, wildlife officials remind everyone to keep a safe distance from moose. At least 25 feet. Whether you spot them in the wild, or at the Buckhorn Bar.
