(Lander, WY) – The Lander Police Department, Fremont County Sheriff’s Office and Wyoming Highway Patrol “safely took an alleged armed suspect into custody on 3/14/2025 following a strategic and coordinated response,” according to a press release shared on the LPD Facebook page late Friday afternoon.
“At approximately 1400, officers responded to a report of ‘a disturbance involving a firearm in the vicinity of the Fremont County Courthouse,'” the press release states. “Upon arrival, officers identified the suspect, who was alleged to be armed at the time and had since left the scene.”
Officers later took the suspect into custody in the 300 block of Baldwin Creek Road “through the cooperation of multiple agencies and coordinated efforts,” and “without injury to the public, officers, or the suspect.”
The release concludes by stating that this was an “isolated incident” and that there is “no threat to the community or public.”
There are no further details at this time, including the name of the suspect, and the investigation remains ongoing.
