The Wyoming Legislature’s Select Committee on Tribal Relations will hold an all-day meeting beginning at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26, in Classroom 7 of the Frank B. Wise Business Center, 3 Ethete Road, in Fort Washakie.
The agenda for the meeting includes a discussion about a proposal to draft legislation including Tribal governments among the entities that must be notified about applications for industrial siting permits near their jurisdictions.
The committee will also continue its conversations about remote sales and use tax distributions and higher education opportunities.
The Wind River Development Fund is scheduled to offer a grant update during the meeting as well.
After lunch, the committee will focus on Indigenous rock art imagery, with a rock art tour scheduled to take place after adjournment at 2 p.m.
Monday’s meeting is open to the public for in-person attendance and will be streamed live on the Legislature’s YouTube page.
There will be an opportunity for in-person public comment at the conclusion of each topic, legislative staffers said, and a “limited number” of participants can also sign up to provide public comment virtually.
“Please fill out the public comment form to ensure the committee knows you intend to provide public comment virtually,” the meeting description states. “Only those that fill out the form to provide public comments virtually and who are e-mailed the Zoom invite from the Legislative Service Office will be permitted into the Zoom meeting to testify.”
