Lander is about to become the epicenter of the Wyoming wild. The Wyoming Outdoor Weekend (WOW) is officially returning to the Lander Community & Convention Center on May 15th and 16th, 2026.
This isn’t just another event; it’s a free, family-friendly celebration to kick off the summer season. We’re talking live music, climbing walls, archery, and a wild game cookoff. But if you really want to make the most of your time in the Tetons or the Winds this year, there is one part of the weekend you absolutely cannot skip: The Saturday Seminar Series.

On Saturday, May 16th, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, WOW transforms into an outdoor classroom. Whether you are a seasoned local or a total novice, these seminars are designed to give you professional-level skills without the price tag.

- The Art of the Hunt & Fish: Master your fly tying and fly casting techniques, or get competitive with duck and turkey calling contests.
- Safety First: Get a head start on the season with Bear Awareness and Safety training. (Pro-tip: Show up at 9:00 AM for the Bear Spray Giveaway!) .
- Nature at Your Feet: Join a medicinal plant hike at Popo Agie Campground in Sinks Canyon State Park (10:00 AM or 1:00 PM) to discover the hidden pharmacy in our backyard- with legend John Mionzynski.
- Stay in the Game: Learn injury prevention directly from a physical therapist so you can keep hiking and biking all summer long.
