The Wolverines and Lady Wolverines made the long trek to the Utah border for the West 2A Regional Track Championships in cold, blustery Evanston. Riverton crowned a pair of champions in both the girls’ and boys’ divisions.
Junior Kayden Liebrecht won both the throws in impressive fashion. His discus throw was 26 feet farther than his regular season best with a toss of 169-7.
Addison Alley won the 100-meter hurdles and placed second in the 100-meter dash.
Natrona County and Kelly Walsh traveled 250 miles to battle each other in the girls’ division. The Fillies won the meet with 215.5 with the runner-up Lady Trojans scoring 178.
On the boys’ side it was Natrona County and host Evanston one-two.
State track competition begins this Thursday afternoon at Kelly Walsh High School in Casper.
