On a cold windy Thursday night with thunder booming in the distance, the Lander Lobos beat Riverton 16-6 in a game shortened to three innings via the 10-run rule.
The Lobos jumped ahead in the top half of the first inning 8-0 on a single by Billy Velarde and a double by Braxton Watts combined with seven Riverton errors and six walks. The opening inning saw a dozen Lander batters take home plate before the final out.
Riverton tallied a pair in the bottom of the first inning on four walks and a pair of passed balls. Miles Rico slide home in a cloud of dust for the first run and Lawson Gavin scored the second run.

Riverton cut the margin to 8-3 after their second at bat, but another eight run burst by the Lobos in the top of third put the game away. Riverton scored three in the bottom half but couldn’t break the 10-run Lander lead and the game was called.
