Both the Lander Police Department and Riverton Police Department are warning of a phone scam that many Fremont County residents reported this weekend.
LPD posted the following message about the scam on their Facebook page:
Do not answer a phone call from 245-955-421- 546 from Guinea-Bissau. It is reported if you answer you will be charged for that call. This is a newer phone scam that will claim victims by using only one word, “Hello?”
Again, do not answer the call or you will be charged for it. Additionally, never give out any personal information over the phone to someone you do not know.
