Between Friday, October 26th and Monday, October 29th there were roughly 15 reports of theft handled by the Riverton Police Department, Lander Police Department, and Fremont County Sheriff’s office.
13 of the 15 reports were in or near Riverton, and 2 were reported in Lander.
Two vehicle thefts were reported, one of which remains unsolved. Two bicycle thefts were reported as were two separate gun thefts. Cash, groceries, and a television were also reported stolen.
Here’s a chronological breakdown of a few of these calls that we can report on so far:
Friday:
10:21 a.m. – Theft from a motor vehicle reported on Lincoln Street in Riverton, unknown items stolen
3:48 p.m. – Bicycle stolen from Lincoln Street in Lander, valued at $400
Saturday:
10:10 a.m. – Someone stole $150 from the front office at a motel on S. Federal Riverton
10:30 a.m. – Riverton homeowner reports surveillance video of 4 juveniles trying to break into vehicles in a residential area
1:16 p.m. – Stolen camera reported from East Monroe Riverton residence
2:10 p.m. – Handgun reported stolen from a vehicle on Elk Drive in Riverton
6:23 p.m. Storage building broken into, items stolen on Elder Lane near Riverton
7:30 p.m. – Lime green, “Giant” brand bicycle stolen from E. Park Avenue in Riverton
Sunday:
2:17 p.m. – Theft of groceries reported from Smith’s Food & Drug
4:44 p.m. A Suburban was broken into and money was reported missing on Westview Drive in Riverton
11:44 p.m. Report of home broken into and television was stolen on N. 2nd West Street in Riverton
Monday:
10:58 a.m. – Gun reported stolen from a vehicle on Snowberry Lane near Riverton
12:02 p.m. Work tools stolen from a trailer on Webwood Road in Riverton
3:20 p.m. Mongoose women’s bike valued at $200 stolen from a residence on Amoretti Street in Lander
5:09 p.m. Vehicle reported stolen on Edith Street in Riverton. (Vehicle was later recovered)
Additionally, on Tuesday morning, just before 5:30 a.m. a report was entered to Riverton Police about a stolen 2018 Chevrolet pickup truck from a house on East Jackson Street. More details on that story can be found here.
