All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
(Fremont County, WY) – Fremont County man Damion Loneman Jr. has been charged with Involuntary Manslaughter, as well as two Assault Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury charges (one of which against a minor), for reported events occurring on November 8, 2024, in the District of Wyoming and within the confines of the Wind River Reservation, according to federal court documents.
In terms of the Involutary Manslaughter charge, the original indictment filed on July 16, 2025, states that on November 8, 2024, Loneman “did unlawfully kill (victim’s name not shared) without malice but with wanton and reckless disregard for human life, while engaging in the commission of unlawful acts not amounting to a felony, that is, driving a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.”
The indictment also originally had only one Assault Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury charge, which stated that on that same date, Loneman “did knowingly and recklessly assault (victim’s name not shared), which resulted in serious bodily injury.” That victim was an adult, according to a superseding indictment filed on November 29, 2025, which added the second Assault Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury charge for an also unnamed “minor victim.”
A warrant was issued for Loneman’s arrest on July 16, 2025, which was later executed on July 17 when he was found in Fort Washakie.
Loneman initially pled “not guilty” to the charges at his November 25 Initial Appearance hearing, and a Jury Trial was set for January 26, 2026. However, a nonpublic plea agreement was later filed on Loneman’s behalf on December 22, and a change-of-plea hearing has now been scheduled for January 6, 2026.
The maximum sentence for the Involuntary Manslaughter charge is 6 years imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, and three years of supervised release.
The maximum punishment for the Assault Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury charge is 10 years imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, and three years of supervised release.
