(Casper, WY) – The initial appearance/arraignment hearing for 33-year-old Fremont County man Thomas Surrell was held in Casper yesterday, January 20, with the Honorable Judge R. Michael Shickich presiding.
Surrell was federally charged with felony Assault Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, following a reported stabbing incident that occurred in Ethete on December 21, 2025. He pled “not guilty” at yesterday’s arraignment, and a jury trial has been scheduled for March 9.
At this time, no plea agreements have been filed, and Surrell remains in custody.
