Local Northern Arapaho Tribal Member Jazmine Wildcat has been selected to receive a fall 2024 employment grant from the nonprofit organization Native American Jump Start.
NAJS is a Jackon-based group that works “to provide opportunities for growth and success for young Native Americans through education and employment,” according to a recent press release.
“We are excited to be able to continue our support of providing funding to support high potential Native students and prospective employees through our funding efforts” NAJS Grants Coordinator Wicahpi Yankton said.
Wildcat’s bio on the NAJS website says she is currently a rising senior at the University of Wyoming, triple majoring in Psychology, Native American and Indigenous Studies, and Political Science.
“She is extremely passionate about the mental health of Indigenous youth and aims to make change through policy a data decolonization,” the bio states.
