The City of Lander is pleased to partner with the Lander Volunteer Fire Department (LVFD), Lander Police Department (LPD), and Fremont County Sheriff’s Office to help ensure a safe and enjoyable Halloween for our community. Families are invited to stop by South 4th and Main Street from 3:30 to 5:00 PM on Halloween for candy, trinkets, and safety information.
Interim Police Chief Kelly Waugh reminds drivers and parents to be extra cautious on Halloween night. “Halloween is one of the most fun nights of the year for kids, but it’s also one of the busiest for traffic and pedestrians,” said Waugh. “Please slow down, stay alert for children crossing the street, and avoid distractions while driving. Our officers will be out patrolling neighborhoods to help keep everyone safe.”
Chris Johnson, Airport and Fire Department Manager, shared his excitement for the event and echoed the focus on safety. “We love seeing our community come together on Halloween,” said Johnson. “Make sure costumes are visible, carry a flashlight or glow stick, and stay with your children while trick-or-treating. A little extra caution helps ensure everyone ends the night with smiles and candy.”
The Lander Volunteer Fire Department, Lander Police Department, Fremont County Sheriff’s Office, and City of Lander are proud to work together to create a safe and festive Halloween for all. By following basic safety tips and watching out for one another, we can make this Halloween a fun and worry-free evening for the whole community.
Local businesses and community groups are also welcome to join the fun by handing out treats to trick-or-treaters on Halloween afternoon.
