Each week, staff at Lander Valley High School nominate a student who has shown outstanding behavior toward their peers and in their academics. At the end of the year, County 10 will award a $500 scholarship to one of the nominated students! Click here to view all nominated students.
Blue Blackburn was nominated as the Lander Valley High School student of the week by Carissa Johnson.
“From the moment I met during her freshman year, Blue has shown her amazing work ethic, leadership capabilities, athletic prowess, and dedication to kindness. Blue is the very definition of going the extra mile: she never hesitates to spend extra time at school to ensure she is where she needs to be academically and devotes her entire mind, body, and soul to the many sports she is involved in. She has clearly evolved into a leader within LVHS sports and is a valuable asset to those around her in need of help with schoolwork. I have witnessed her go out of her way to bring comfort, joy, and positivity to those around her, and I'm so excited for her to get out into the world and bring her dedication and radiance to even more people!” -Carissa Johnson
After high school, Blue plans to attend Laramie County Community College and play soccer. She also plans to major in Kinesiology and become a Physical Therapist.
Blue is involved in several school activities including Indoor Track, Cross Country Running, Cross Country Skiing and Girls Soccer. She has earned All-State in Indoor Track, Cross Country and Soccer. Blue has also earned several Academic Letters.
In her free time, Blue enjoys watercolor painting, trail running, Jujitsu classes, singing, playing guitar, hanging out with friends, baking, fashion, makeup, having photoshoots with friends and finding a swimming hole!
