Each week, staff at Lander Valley High School nominate a student who has shown outstanding behavior toward their peers and in their academics. At the end of the year, County 10 will award a $500 scholarship to one of the nominated students! Click here to view all nominated students.
Bria Calvert was nominated as the Lander Valley High School student of the week by Carissa Johnson.
“Bria is a shining example of an inspiration to other students. I rarely meet a student with more school spirit than Bria. Her dedication to spread Tiger Pride is most evident during Homecoming & Spirit Week, but it’s certainly not limited to those times. She’s currently taking an extremely rigorous course load, which includes 3 college classes- and I’ve never heard a single complaint! She radiates kindness, positivity and enthusiasm while still remaining down-to-earth and focused. I’m so happy I got to have her in my classroom this year- I’m sure every teacher feels the same!” –Carissa Johnson
Bria plans to attend the University of Wyoming to major in Speech Therapy and minor in Family & Consumer Sciences. She has received an Academic Letter every semester in High School. She currently helps at a daycare, has worked on getting recycling approved at LVHS and helps with Senior Student Council.
In her free time, Bria likes to go on road trips, go to concerts, hang out with friends and family and practice sign language.
