Each week, staff at Lander Valley High School nominate a student who has shown outstanding behavior toward their peers and in their academics. At the end of the year, County 10 will award a $500 scholarship to one of the nominated students! Click here to view all nominated students.
Brinleigh Hoyt was nominated as the Lander Valley High School student of the week by Robert Parker.
"I have been so blessed to have Brinleigh as Drum Major for the band. She has a winning attitude, and a dynamite work ethic. She has been patient and kind while teaching me some of the nuanced culture issues including what has been done in the recent past. She has my vote because of her great character!” -Robert Parker
After high school, Brinleigh plans to attend Brigham Young University for a semester before going on an 18 month mission for her church. She then plans to get her Masters in Music Education…and hopefully come back to Lander Valley High School to make ‘the BEST Marching Band ever!’
Brinleigh has earned AP Scholar, All-State Thespian, LVHS Drum Major and Superior Score for the Choral Duet at Districts. She has been in choir for 4 years, band for 6 years and will have taken 4 years of pottery by the end of this year. She has also been in 4 of the LVHS Musicals, 4 of the LVHS Plays and 4 years of Drama Club.
In her free time Brinleigh is active in her church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, including all the activities that they provide. She is also very busy with AP homework. At this time of year she is also busy with making amazing costumes and outfits for Homecoming Week, Drum Major and Halloween. She also enjoys music, arts and family time.
