Each week, staff at Lander Valley High School nominate a student who has shown outstanding behavior toward their peers and in their academics. At the end of the year, County 10 will award a $500 scholarship to one of the nominated students! Click here to view all nominated students.
Liesl Edelman was nominated as the Lander Valley High School student of the week by Monika Leopold.
“Liesl is an incredibly hard worker, bright student, and kind person! She not only kills it on the basketball court, but she's a superstar in the classroom. In AP Chemistry, she's capable of working through difficult college-level content and has a zeal for problem-solving. She pushes herself in ways many other students don't or can't, always rising to the occasion, and is willing to share her knowledge and teach other students. She's going to go far in college and beyond, and I'm super proud of her!” -Monika Leopold
After high school, Liesl plans to go to college, but she is not sure where she will attend yet. She would like to get a degree in something Biomedical and hopefully travel a lot too. Liesel is an AP Scholar with Distinction.
Liesel is on the Girls Basketball team and is in the National Honor Society. In her free time she enjoys working at Fremont Therapy, hiking, being outside, baking and hanging out with her dog.
