Each week, staff at Lander Valley High School nominate a student who has shown outstanding behavior toward their peers and in their academics. At the end of the year, County 10 will award a $500 scholarship to one of the nominated students! Click here to view all nominated students.
Lizzie Whiting was nominated as the Lander Valley High School student of the week by Heidi VanLishout.
“Lizzie is one of the kindest humans I have met. She so genuine and cares for others which is sometimes a rare quality in today’s world. Along with being kind, Lizzie works incredibly hard. She puts in a lot of time and effort into her classes and extracurriculars such as taking multiple AP classes and the school musical/play. I am so proud of Lizzie and how far she has come in these 4 short years. I am excited to see what the future holds for her!”

Lizzie plans to attend BYU Provo to complete her pre-requisites for dental hygiene. After this, she plans to get an Associates Degree as a Dental Hygienist at the Utah Valley University of Dental Hygiene.
Always busy, Lizzie is the Student Council Vice President, has received 6 Academic Letters and is the Captain of the Cross Country Ski Team. She is also involved in the LVHS musicals and plays and National Honor Society.
In her free time, Lizzy enjoys hiking backpacking, running, walking and spending time with family and friends. She also loves reading books and watching rom-coms.
James Whiting and Camille Whiting are the proud parents of Lizzie.
