Each week, staff at Lander Valley High School nominate a student who has shown outstanding behavior toward their peers and in their academics. At the end of the year, County 10 will award a $500 scholarship to one of the nominated students! Click here to view all nominated students.
Mack White was nominated as the Lander Valley High School student of the week by Kiley Chatfield.
“I have had Mack White in my woodworking classes over the past 4 years. Mack has always demonstrated what it means to be a true Tiger, such as personal responsibility, leadership, and respect for others. Mack demonstrates selfless leadership everyday. Mack often has opportunities to help other students. He will assist them with operating machines or or constructing their projects. Mack has never turned down the opportunity to help one of the other students in the class; he magnifies all the duties, assignments, and responsibilities given to him. One of the most rewarding things about being a teacher is seeing young people grow and develop throughout high school and it has been my pleasure to have Mack in class. I have no doubt that Mack will excel in whatever career path he chooses in life.” -Kiley Chatfield
Mack is planning to serve a 2-year mission for the Russia Yekaterinburg Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Mack is on the Cross-Country Running, Cross Country Skiing and Track and Field teams. In his free time he enjoys hunting, fishing and playing guitar.
