Each week, staff at Lander Valley High School nominate a student who has shown outstanding behavior toward their peers and in their academics. At the end of the year, County 10 will award a $500 scholarship to one of the nominated students! Click here to view all nominated students.
Vera Walker was nominated as the Lander Valley High School student of the week by Emily Wilson.
“Vera is such a conscientious, kind student. Whether she’s interacting with students as a Senior Mentor or collaborating with her peers in AP Lit, she always has a smile on her face and something profound to contribute. Not only does Vera work to ensure all work is completed to a high-level, but she’s a wonderful, welcoming presence in any classroom – and don’t get me started on her incredible writing abilities! It’s been such a joy to see her grow from freshman year, and I can’t wait to see what she accomplishes in the future.”

Vera plans to attend the University of Wyoming to study for an Art Major. She has earned several academic letters throughout high school. Her school activities include National Honor Society, Marching Band, Concert Band and she is also a Senior Mentor.
In her free time, Vera enjoys drawing, writing and playing video games. She also enjoys hanging out with her friends and going hiking.
Zach Walker and Heather Walker are the proud parents of Vera.
