Making patients feel calm and at ease is of the utmost importance.
The most common methods of helping patients manage dental anxiety are medications such as valium and nitrous oxide. However, those options may not be suitable for everyone. In an effort to continue to offer alternative options to help patients manage dental anxiety and feel more comfortable, Rendezvous Dental is proud to introduce the addition of an emotional support dog.
The research and data on the effectiveness of support and therapy animals in the healthcare setting continues to grow and what better setting than a dental office for a little extra emotional support? We are so excited to introduce Doc to our patients and our community!
Doc has been in the practice now since September 2024. His calm and laid-back demeanor, and not to mention super cute face, has already helped patients to feel more at ease while in the dental chair. Doc is still in training, but has already learned to work with patients by sitting beside them while they are in the chair, or by laying on their laps. Doc really loves his job and takes pride in making people feel better!
