All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
27-year-old Riverton man, Kenneth Palmer, is being charged with one count of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, and one count of possession of methamphetamine in a felony amount.
On June 11th a special agent with the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) made a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Palmer. The agent had prior knowledge to a methamphetamine distribution operation, which Palmer was accused of being part of.
Palmer gave consent to DCI search a motel room he was staying at.
Agents opened a safe in the Riverton motel room and located 11 ounces of methamphetamine, a digital scale, cash, and a vape pen. The amount of methamphetamine warranted a felony arrest.
On June 20th the preliminary hearing was waived by the defendant. The matter will be transferred to District Court at a later date.
Palmer is charged with,
- One count of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver – Punishable by up to 20 years of imprisonment and a fine of up to $25,000
- One count of possession of methamphetamine in a felony amount – Punishable by up to 7 years of imprisonment and a fine of up to $15,000
