Former Carbon County Sheriff Jerry Colson placed a call to his neighboring law enforcement family, the Rawlins Police Department, Thursday afternoon.
Colson reported to RPD that a dog had been left alone in a hot vehicle in the PD’s jurisdiction.
Upon arrival, the Rawlins Police Department not only rescued the dog, they determined the vehicle had been reported as stolen from a neighboring state.
Details are limited, but apparently the Wyoming Highway Patrol joined the other agencies in the case and were ultimately able to peacefully apprehend a suspect in downtown Rawlins.
Rawlins Police also reported that the dog was taken to the nearby Rochelle Animal Shelter and is doing just fine.
