A 31-year-old man was injured in a ski-triggered avalanche Monday in the Space Walk Couloir south of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.
The man was assisted by Teton County Sheriff’s, ski patrol, and a search and rescue crew according to the Jackson Hole News & Guide.
Ultimately, a helicopter crew lifted the man out of a steep, rocky area.
Authorities say the man was not ever totally buried in the snow and sustained a suspected hip injury.
Due to flight conditions and limited daylight, he was transported to the Search & Rescue hangar, then driven to a nearby hospital.
