(Riverton, WY) – A 52-year-old Riverton man, who was conscious and aware, received a “serious scalp injury” when he was struck in the head with an ax while sitting at a picnic table on the north side of Riverton City Park Thursday afternoon, according to the Riverton Police Department call log.
Both he and the witnesses at the scene gave statements, and EMS then transported him.
A suspect and vehicle were identified, and two and a half hours later, it was located on the west side of town.
Lincey Shongutsie, 24-year-old from Arapahoe, was arrested for Aggravated Assault. A double-bladed ax was recovered. Isaac Bell, a 27-year-old from Riverton, who was with Shongutsie, was arrested on a Riverton Municipal warrant.
No other details about the incident were provided by RPD.
