The Riverton City Council welcomed a new patrol officer to the Riverton Police Department this week.
Matthew Milliken took the oath of office during a regular council meeting Tuesday, surrounded by members of his family.
RPD Chief Eric Hurtado said Milliken moved to Riverton from New Jersey about a year and a half ago.
“I expect he’s going to do very well,” Mayor Tim Hancock said. “(We) appreciate you and appreciate your willingness to serve. … We need more people willing to step up and be police officers.”
