May is Mental Health Awareness Month – Start the conversation, end the stigma

Mental health is just as important as physical health—but too often, it’s ignored or misunderstood. This May, during Mental Health Awareness Month, Fremont County Prevention encourages everyone to check in with themselves, check on others, and speak openly about mental wellness.

Across Wyoming and the nation, more people are facing anxiety, depression, stress, and emotional challenges. The good news? Help is available. Healing is possible. And no one has to go through it alone.

What You Can Do:

✅ Talk about it. Sharing your story or simply checking in with a friend can help break the stigma.
✅ Know the signs. Changes in mood, sleep, energy, or behavior may be signs that someone is struggling.
✅ Reach out for help. Whether it’s a counselor, a parent, a friend, or the 988 Crisis Line, support is always within reach.

Take a Mental Health Screening

Mental Health America offers free, confidential screenings at mhascreening.org. It’s a simple first step toward understanding how you’re really doing.

Let’s work together to create a culture of compassion and connection in Fremont County—because mental health matters, every month of the year.
