(Douglas, WY) – Believe it or not… high school fall sports season is upon us!
Riverton High School golfers began their season with a two-day invitational in Douglas as Ceira Roberts enters her second season as Head Coach.
Riverton’s Tylynn McDonald started her season strong, shooting a day-one 83 to tie for first place overall. Day two was a bit rougher on the course for Tylynn, wrapping up with a score of 89, dropping her to 4th place overall. Riverton’s Annika Stanley tied for 11th overall with a two-day 192. Douglas’ Maddie Brace shot a two-day 162 for the championship individually.
Riverton’s ladies did not qualify for a team score. Kelly Walsh won the crown, holding off Wheatland and Thermopolis.
On the boys side of the event, Wolverine Brody Taylor finished just outside of the top ten with a two-day 164. Riverton finished 8th in the 11-team event. Wheatland took the overall championship, besting Kelly Walsh by two strokes.
Riverton golfers will stay in the county next weekend, with an invite in Lander on the 18th and 19th.
