Meet Teton Therapy’s Jessica Fahsholtz – Bringing a fresh perspective to Occupational Therapy in Riverton!

Occupational therapy changes lives, and Jessica Fahsholtz, OTD, has made it her mission to help patients find purpose and independence through meaningful care. Inspired by her father, a Physical Therapist Assistant, Jessica says, “I learned about OT through my Dad, and I loved seeing the connection he had with patients,” She continues, “He would take time out of his lunch hour to meet with a patient who had [Multiple Sclerosis], and that really inspired me to help the lives of others.”

With an undergraduate degree in Human Development and Family Sciences from Texas Tech University and a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Texas Tech Health Sciences Center, Jessica blends education, compassion, and creativity into her practice. She’s passionate about pediatrics and women’s health and is skilled at making therapy engaging, whether it’s using play to help kids or developing personalized plans for women’s health challenges.

Jessica’s approach to care is rooted in treating the whole person, not just the injury. As she explains, “[If you look at] the OT perspective of a shoulder replacement – is there a deeper meaning to your purpose? Are you rehabbing that shoulder to do something meaningful, like pick up your grandchildren?” It’s this mindset that helps her connect therapy to what matters most in her patients’ lives.

She emphasizes that listening is at the heart of her patient care philosophy: “The first step in treatment is listening and asking the right questions, then following up. Like how can we update our plan and understand where the patients are coming from? We want to address those new issues so they find value in coming to therapy.”

What drew her to Teton Therapy? “I love the people and seeing that this is a cohesive team. The staff enjoy being together, playing volleyball or doing things like trivia. And Teton patients are happy patients. People say, ‘My son went there, and he loves it!’” she shares.

“That connection is a huge thing, and the quality y’all put out,” Jessica says of Teton staff.  A proud Texan who’s been calling Wyoming home since the summer, Jessica is loving the wide-open spaces and warm community she’s found here. She’s excited to bring her creativity, compassion, and ingenuity to help Teton Therapy’s patients achieve their goals.
