(Riverton, WY) – For the Riverton Police Department, crime calls can be “ruff,” especially when their lead suspect is a cute, fluffy four-legged friend.
That’s exactly what happened on the evening of Saturday, April 5th when a shopper at a Riverton grocery store returned to their vehicle to find that their newly purchased food items were completely torn apart. Missing food, bags cut open and presumably a total mess all over the vehicle’s interior.
The shopper reported the chaotic scene to the Riverton Police Department, describing to dispatchers that someone must’ve broken into the vehicle and torn through the bags of food.
After some excellent detective work, responding RPD officers noted a curious and excited dog as a, “pup of interest” in the case. The reporting party did notify officers that the dog had been left inside of the vehicle while they’d gone in to do some more shopping. In conclusion, it was ultimately decided that this was likely not the work of a burglar, and more of a bark-alar.
County 10 did not receive word on any possible punishment for the suspect, however we’re told he’s still a very good boy.
