(Fort Washakie, WY) – The 65th Annual Eastern Shoshone Indian Days Powwow took place back in June, where the local Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives 307 advocacy group held Red Shirt and Red Dress Special competitions to raise awareness for the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons cause.
Chico Her Many Horses was the MC for the event, with Sam Her Many Horses acting as Arena Director.
Kalen SunRhodes from Ethete led the MMIR 307 men’s red shirt special, while Regina Limpy from Arapahoe led women’s red dress special.
Otter Trail opened the special MMIR 307 event, and also served as judges, with BlackStone singing for both MMIR 307 specials.
The following Native Veterans from the Arapaho Warriors Legion Post 96 CPL Billy Farris. Hiinono ei’ Beni’iineno did an honoring and protection dance during both dance specials: Martin Blackburn, US MARINE; CJ Potter, US MARINE; Billy Whiteplume, US ARMY; Theron Spoonhunter, US MARINE.
