The City of Lander will begin its weekly mosquito spraying program on Wednesday evenings at dusk, starting June 25. The City of Lander Weed & Pest Department will initially focus on the perimeter of the city limits. Spraying in other city areas will occur if mosquito collection and testing indicate a need. If weather conditions such as storms or high winds, or mechanical issues arise, spraying will be rescheduled for the following day. Please note that the fogger is very quiet, and you may not hear it as in previous years.
Residents can submit a “No Spray Request” form, available on the City’s website at https://www.landerwyoming.org/weed-pest or at City Hall, located at 240 Lincoln Street. Completed forms should be returned to City Hall. These requests will be honored unless Fremont County determines that West Nile virus poses a significant public health threat. Please note that requests are valid for the current year and must be renewed annually.
