The City of Lander has officially concluded its mosquito spraying operations for the season. Weekly mosquito spraying, which occurred on Wednesday nights throughout the summer, has now ended. The City will not be conducting any spraying on September 4, 2024.
The City will continue to monitor mosquito populations, and should conditions warrant a resumption of spraying, residents will be notified.
For residents seeking more information, the City’s Weed and Pest web page offers a variety of educational resources on mosquito control. Here, you can also access labels and safety data sheets for the herbicides and insecticides commonly used by the City. Visit the page at landerwyoming.org/weed-pest.
Additionally, we remind residents that the “No Spray Request” form is available on our website and at City Hall. Please note that these requests are honored until Fremont County determines that West Nile Virus poses a threat to all citizens. Remember, “No Spray” requests are valid only for the current year and must be renewed annually.
