(Riverton, WY) – The Riverton Police Department dispatch center is now fully staffed following the swearing in of new Dispatcher Hannah Havens this week.
“We’re adding another dispatcher to our force, and that completes our staffing,” RPD Chief Eric Hurtado said as he introduced Havens during a Riverton City Council meeting Tuesday. “All our dispatch positions are officially full.”
Havens is originally from Bakersfield, California, Hurtado said, and she has a background in welding mechanics.
“Dispatching wasn’t originally on her radar, but life had other plans for her,” he said. “Luckily, she joined us … and now she’s settled in Riverton with her husband (and) her two-month-old daughter.”
Hurtado described Havens as someone who “has a passion for helping others and serving her community.”
“She has a strong work ethic, and she has a cool head under pressure,” he said. “We welcome her to the family.”
After administering the oath of office for Havens, Mayor Tim Hancock said it was “good to hear” that the dispatch unit was now fully staffed.
“(We’re) very glad to have you on board,” he said.
In her spare time, Hurtado said Havens enjoys riding Harleys with her husband and spending time with her mother, brother, and nephews.
“We’re excited to welcome Hannah to the Riverton Police Department Dispatch team!” the RPD said in a Facebook post. “She brings strong communication skills, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to serving our community. Hannah is eager to learn and contribute to the fast-paced environment of dispatch, and we’re confident she’ll be a great addition to our team.”
