(Riverton, WY) – The Riverton Police Department added a new member to its team this week with the swearing-in of William Wolfe as a 911 dispatcher.
RPD Chief Eric Hurtado said Wolfe moved to Wyoming in 2023 from Marseilles, Illinois, where he “had a career working in Illinois waterways.”
“He switched careers to be home more and spend more time with his family and kids,” Hurtado said. “He has a wife and three kids, with one more on the way.”
Wolfe enjoys woodworking and working on vehicles in his free time – “which ended today,” Hurtado joked.
“He’s also a history buff and enjoys going to museums, (and) one of the big reasons he and his family moved to Wyoming is to spend more time in the outdoors, hiking and hunting,” Hurtado said.
Hurtado invited Wolfe’s wife, Erin, to place “the badge of honor” on the new dispatcher’s uniform while their children Rowan, Willow and Juniper looked on.
“I was very excited to see your kids running around before the meeting started,” Mayor Tim Hancock said after administering the oath of office for Wolfe. “(That’s) a lot of fun. …
