(Riverton, WY) – The Fremont County School District #25 Recreation Board presented individual and group Volunteer of the Year awards this week to the organizers behind the new soccer field off of Major Avenue in Riverton.
“It’s an amazing project,” Rec Board Member Cody Beers said during a FCSD 25 Board of Trustees meeting Tuesday. “We’re all very proud of it.”
The effort by the Riverton Youth Soccer Association required teamwork from “many” local residents and organizations, Beers said, specifically naming almost 50 different individuals and entities involved.
But every volunteer project also needs a “champion,” Beers said – “somebody who steps up and says, ‘We’re going to get this done.’ Somebody who can bring many people together.”
For the soccer field project, Beers said that individual was Josh Saltsgaver, who later thanked the Rec Board and the School Board for their support.
“We couldn’t have done it without you guys,” he said.
