Teton Therapy’s Zac Schaller, MOT, OTR/L, is a Masters-level Occupational Therapist in practice since 2021. Providing upper-extremity rehabilitation in Fremont County with an emphasis on shoulder recovery, he is now practicing full-time at Teton Therapy’s Lander clinic. His guides to shoulder issues and rehabilitation are a weekly feature.
If shoulder stiffness or mild pain has been slowing you down, a few simple stretches may make a big difference.
In his latest blog, Five Gentle Shoulder Stretches to Improve Mobility, Zac Schaller, MOT, OTR/L, shares easy, no-equipment stretches designed to reduce tension, improve range of motion, and make everyday movements more comfortable.
“These stretches are helpful for anyone who experiences shoulder tightness, stiffness, or mild pain, especially if it builds up from daily activities, desk work, or repetitive arm use,” Schaller says.
For those with injuries or limited mobility, adjustments are often possible.
“Many of these stretches can be modified by reducing how far you move, completing them seated, or focusing on one side at a time,” Schaller says. “However, if someone has a specific shoulder injury, recent surgery, or significant pain, it’s best to consult with a therapist first to make sure the stretches are appropriate for their specific case.”
Schaller and the Occupational Therapy team at Teton Therapy offer free consultations for anyone dealing with shoulder pain, stiffness, or limited movement.
