(Riverton, WY) – The Fremont County School District 25 (Riverton) Board of Trustees will hold a regular meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, in the Board Chambers at 121 North Fifth Street West.
The agenda begins with Roy Brown and Title VI Students, who will present the Pledge of Allegiance in Arapaho in celebration of National Native American Heritage Month.
Several awards will be presented during the board members round table, including the Wyoming High School Activities Association Good Sportsmanship Award for Hunter Saltsgaver, the Rec Board Volunteers of the Year Group Award for the Riverton Youth Soccer Association, and the Rec Board Volunteers of the Year Individual Award for Josh Saltsgaver.
The board will also hear about two out-of-state travel requests during the round table: for the Riverton High School Cross Country team to travel to Boise in November to attend the Nike Regional Cross Country Meet, and for the RHS American Heritage students to travel to Boston and New York in March.
The board will formally consider both requests during the action item portion of the meeting.
The round table will conclude with a Riverton Middle School report from Principal Aziz Waheed and Assistant Principal Brady Slack, followed by reports from board members, staff, visitors and delegations.
Other action items on Tuesday’s agenda include:
-an administrative recommendation to accept more than $1 million in IDEA Consolidated Grant awards
-an administrative recommendation to accept revised allocations to Title I-A and Title II-A grant funds representing an overall $65,000 decrease
-an administrative recommendation to approve an elementary school calendar change to accommodate staff participation in a two-day behavior response training program
-an administrative recommendation to accept the resignation of RHS Assistant Wrestling Coach Talon Yeates, effective Oct. 12
-an administrative recommendation to offer a contract to AnnaBeth Bornhoft as RHS Assistant Girls’ Wrestling Coach
Newly elected Board Members – all of whom were incumbents – will be sworn in Tuesday as well.
Information items on the agenda include:
-Policy 2087 “Unclaimed Property”
-Notifications of habitually truant, willfully absent and 10-day drop students
-Classified staff changes
-Enrollment
The board will discuss a district data review before convening into a closed executive session for legal matters.
Tuesday’s meeting is open to the public for in-person attendance and will be streamed live on the district’s YouTube channel, where past meeting recordings are stored.
