American Airlines has announced they’ll begin providing a daily nonstop flight between Cheyenne and Dallas/Fort Worth airport.
Cheyenne has been without commercial air service since March after Great Lakes Airlines discontinued all of their flight operations.
The daily flight The Cheyenne Regional Air Focus Team signed a one-year deal for the flight with SkyWest Airlines which guaranteed a minimum revenue of $2.3 million according to the Wyoming Tribune Eagle. Service began on Sunday with a Bombardier CRJ200 Regional Jet. Each plane will seat about 50 passengers.
Daily flights depart DFW at 9:30 a.m. CST and arrives in Cheyenne at 10:50 a.m. MST. It will then depart Cheyenne at 11:20 a.m., arriving in Dallas at 2:20 p.m.
Cheyenne’s airport constructed a new terminal in 2017 worth $18.5 million.
