Northern Arapaho General Council meeting Friday in Ethete

(Ethete, WY) – The Northern Arapaho General Council will meet at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30, at Blue Sky Hall in Ethete.

The agenda includes an opening prayer followed by the selection of the next General Council Chair.

Next on the agenda are reports from the Northern Arapaho Business Council, the Northern Arapaho Tribal Committee, the Northern Arapaho Economic Development Committee, Arapaho First, Wind River Hotel Casino, and Wind River Family and Community Health Care.

The General Council will also hear a special report regarding the NABC’s understanding of the relationship between the General Council and the Business Council. 

The agenda includes the following presentations from Tribal Members:

• Avilia Rae Friday will present a resolution to prohibit the transportation, storage, or disposal of nuclear or uranium materials within the Wind River Reservation and to create a section within the Shoshone and Arapaho Law and Order Code regarding such prohibition.
• Nicole Wagon will present a resolution enacting the immediate installation of General Council duly elected election judges.
• Jesse Crispin will present proposed amendments to Resolution 6663A, Part III-Recall and Removal; Section 1-Recall; Section 2-Removal a); Section 6-Prohibition Against Office Holding

Friday’s meeting is open only to adult citizens of the Northern Arapaho Tribe ages 18 and older; all others are prohibited entrance unless authorized by the General Council Chairman.

If a quorum of 150 members has not been established by 10:30 a.m., the meeting may be canceled, and a new date for the next General Council meeting will be set.
