A release issued Tuesday from the Nothern Arapaho General Council states that the scheduled meeting on January 19th has been postponed.
According to the council, the Federal Government shutdown is “adversely affecting the tribe, thus the request for postponement.”
The Northern Arapahoe Business Council also released a statement last week, notifying the public that it plans to suspend all types of assistance including medical, funeral, senior assistance, utilities, and financial assistance. A statement says the decision, “in large part is due to the government shutdown.”
Fremont County School District #14 announced that they hope to help those affected by the shutdown by offering a free lunch at one of the district’s three schools.
