(Dubois, WY) – The August 21 sentencing hearing for Dubois business owner Tammy Bushnell has been reset for October 2, according to federal Court documents filed on July 10
Bushnell was charged with conspiracy to defraud the United States and filing a false return, along with her husband Scott.
The Bushnells are the co-owners of Trails End Guns and Trails End Motel, and they both face these charges after reportedly “executing a scheme to defraud the United States” through “routine underreporting of gross income through the submission of false and fraudulent business records and reported income to the (their) accountant.”
Bushnell initially pled “guilty” to charges and the August 21 sentencing hearing was set, however, a non-public change of plea was filed on her behalf on May 16, and the sentencing was ultimately reset for October 2.
Scott’s sentencing is still currently set for the same day.
A conspiracy to defraud the United States charge holds a maximum sentence of 5 years imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, 3 years supervised release and $100 special assessment fee, with potential restitution to be determined by the Court.
A filing a false return charge holds a maximum if sentence of 3 years imprisonment, a $100,000 fine, 1 year of supervised release and a $100 special assessment fee, with potential restitution to be determined by the Court.
