(Riverton, WY) – The Fremont County School District 25 Board of Trustees will hold a regular meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, in the Board Chambers at 121 North Fifth Street West in Riverton.
The consent agenda includes the adoption of amended Policy 5095 “District Staff Short-Term Leaves” on second reading.
During the round-table portion of the meeting, the board will hear:
- a trip debrief from Margaret Urbigkit and Speech and Debate students about the National Speech and Debate Tournament
- a report from elementary administrators regarding explicit instruction focus
- a report from Riverton Middle School administrators regarding rotating schedule and innovative practices
Action items on the agenda include:
- ratify the superintendent’s exception under Policy 1220 to retroactively designate the cheer team’s out-of-state travel
- approve an out-of-state travel request for the Riverton High School Future Farmers of America students to travel to Indianapolis for the National FFA Convention in October 2026
- declare items as surplus
- adopt amended Policy 4085 “Homeschooling” and amended Policy 4060 “Special Education Evaluation and Eligibility”
- adopt amended Policy 6135 “Administering Medicine to Students” and amended Policy 6035 “Home/Private School and Transfer Student Academic Participation and Assignment”
- approve Frontier Academy early graduation requests
Under information items, the board will discuss Amended Policy 5025 “Staff Compensation” and amended Policy 5080 “Certified and Licensed Professional Contracts and Compensation.”
The board will also review agreements for the Day Reporting Center and State of Wyoming Enterprise Technology Services as well as classified staff changes and enrollment.
Tuesday’s meeting is open to the public for in-person attendance and will be streamed live on the district’s YouTube channel, where past meeting recordings are also stored.
