Around 9:30 a.m. Friday, a construction crew working near College View Dr. and West Bend Avenue in Riverton reported to local authorities a raccoon, that they believed to be rabid, was in their construction site area.
An official from the Wyoming Game & Fish Department as well as officers from the Riverton Police Department and RPD Animal Control arrived on scene to remove the animal. The animal had moved near a residence in the West Bend area when officials had arrived.
The raccoon will undergo tests to determine whether or not it was rabid.
