(Riverton, WY) – It was a little chilly at 11 a.m. Saturday, when the Riverton Raiders opened their home season at Roy Peck Field against the Casper Drillers. Riverton dropped the first game 6-4 before losing the afternoon tilt 10-6.

In the opener, Beau Anderson was on the mound for the Raiders, tallying six strikeouts in three innings.
Casper scored in the top of the second inning on three singles to take a 2-0 lead.
Riverton answered with a run in the bottom of the second on a pair of doubles. The first by Brayden Martin and the second a shot to left field by Basyn Anderson that scored Martin.
Casper scored twice again in the third, this time using three walks combined with a wild pitch and a passed ball for a 4-1 advantage.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Martin walked, and Paxton Yeates sent him to third on a double to left.
Cameron Jevne hit a long fly ball to left, and Martin tagged up to cut the game to 4-2.
Casper tallied an unearned run in the fifth on an error, a walk, a fielder’s choice, and a sacrifice fly for a 5-2 advantage.
Basyn Anderson hit a single to center, then made it to third base on a pair of passed balls. Brayden Baker hit a long sacrifice fly to center that scored Anderson and cut the Casper lead to 5-3.
Martin singled to open the sixth, then advanced on a wild pitch, and Jeven drove an RBI single to center for a 5-4 score.
Casper scored once more in the top of the sixth.
Colter Heikkila hit a single and made it to second base on a steal, but Addison Trujillo, Martin, and Yeates all struck out to end the game.

In the 2 p.m. game, Riverton built a 5-2 lead after five innings, but the wheels came off in the top of the seventh inning with the Drillers scoring eight runs on five walks, three singles, a double, and a Riverton error for the 10-6 win.
Baker took the mound and allowed just two hits while striking out seven Casper batters and giving up no walks.
