(Lander, WY) – Paced by home runs from Colter Heikkila and Addison Trujillo in the opening game and another by Beau Anderson in the second, the Riverton Raiders handled the Lander Legends at Lander Monday evening on a perfect night for baseball. There are few, if any, ballparks as scenic and comfortable as Lander’s, and the fans in attendance were entertained by a great performance from both teams.
Riverton won the opening game of the conference doubleheader 9-2, then took the nightcap 12-3. This is the first time in decades that Riverton and Lander have battled in a conference baseball game.
Brayden Baker took the win with 10 strikeouts via his blistering fastball. The Raiders had nine hits on the night, with Trujillo coming up just a triple away from batting for the cycle.
Beau Anderson took the mound in the second game, giving up just a single hit and tallying eight strikeouts in four innings of play. Jameson Spradlin came on in relief and also yielded just one hit.
Riverton had seven hits spread throughout the contest, but did most of their damage via the walk. Lander pitchers sent a dozen Raiders to first on walks.
