(Dubois, WY) – The Rams moved to 2-0 on the season with a 27-12 win over a vastly improved Ten Sleep team in their home opener Saturday afternoon. The Rams travel to Park County this week for a game with the Meeteetse Longhorns.
Dubois played a good defensive game but had lapses offensively, especially in the second half.
The Rams opened scoring on a beautifully executed play between Seth Dvergsdal and Zander Hawkins.
Hawkins took the snap, pitched to Dvergsdal then sprinted ahead to block. He slid off a block and Dvergsdal hit him with a 12-yard pass. Hawkins did the rest, rolling 65 yards for the game’s first score.

Ten Sleep scored to close the gap to 7-6, but the Rams roared back on another 65-yard scoring play, this one on a run by Dvergsdal. Freshman Cam Hinkle added the conversion run and the Rams led 14-6.
Dubois added two more scores. The first on a one-yard Dylan Wagner run and the second on a four-yard scamper by Dylan Chamley.
Leading 27-6, the Rams began to sputter offensively with turnovers, penalties and missed assignments.
“We played well on defense. I’m happy with our toughness on defense,” Dubois head coach Dan O’Brien said. “Offensively we need to clean up a lot of things. Too many turnovers, penalties and lack of execution in the red zone.”
Ten Sleep broke a 58-yard run for a score early in the fourth quarter, but that was it in the defensive tilt.
“The good news is it all can be fixed,” O’Brien said.
