The Rebecca McDaniel Memorial Fund continues to honor the legacy of a beloved clinician by supporting the next generation of healthcare providers.
This year, the fund awarded six $500 scholarships to high school graduates pursuing careers in the healthcare field. Recipients were selected from communities served by Fremont Therapy Group (FTG), as well as Pinedale — Rebecca McDaniel’s hometown.

The scholarship program was established in 2023 following the unexpected passing of Rebecca McDaniel in a car accident. Created jointly by her family and FTG employees, the fund reflects Rebecca’s deep commitment to patient care, mentorship, and community involvement.
Rebecca was known not only for her compassion as a clinician but also for the time she dedicated to supporting students. She was passionate about encouraging others to explore careers in healthcare and often volunteered her time to help guide and inspire young people in her community.
Each year, scholarship recipients are selected through a local review process. Panels in each county evaluate applications based on merit, ensuring that the awards recognize students who demonstrate both academic dedication and a passion for serving others.
In Pinedale, the selection process holds special meaning. Rebecca’s parents, Wayne and Nancy McDaniel, personally interview candidates and choose the recipient. This year, they selected Evalyn Smith as the Pinedale scholarship recipient.
The ongoing success of the scholarship program is made possible through generous community and staff support.
