Sweetwater Now is reporting that 3 people have died and 1 person is in critical condition after a massive pile-up occurred on Interstate 80 Sunday evening between Rawlins and Wamsutter. Update: Sweetwater Now has updated the death total to 3 as of 11:45 a.m. Monday.
Sweetwater Now reports that the Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Department says the first of two separate crashes happened near milepost 184, westbound. The first crash involved 100 vehicles. A second pileup occurred within minutes of the first near mile post 180, eastbound and involved 40 vehicles.
Sheriff’s reported that six other people had been transported to local hospitals to treat injuries.
