Each week, staff at Riverton High School nominate a student who has shown outstanding behavior towards their peers and their academics. At the end of the year, County 10 will present a scholarship of $500 to one of the students nominated! Click here to view all students.
Ameliyah McDermott was nominated as the RHS student of the week by Lucas Johnston.
Mr. Lucas Johnston: Ameliyah has been a model student and person during her time at RHS. She shows great character and respect to the students and staff on a daily basis. On top of working hard to achieve great grades, she has earned her CNA credentials and balances academics with work at Westward Heights providing senior care, services, and special living needs. She has taken challenging courses throughout her 4 years in high school while being involved in many clubs and activities. Through her positive attitude, work ethic, and dedication, she is a role model for her peers, staff, and everyone she encounters in a variety of ways.
School Activities: FCCLA, Volleyball, PEP Club, STUCO
Special Awards or Honors: Athletic letters, academic awards, and honor roll.
Outside Activities/Hobbies: Working as a CNA, spending time with friends and family, hiking, fishing, and camping.
Student’s Plans After Graduation: Earn my bachelors in Nursing and work in the NICU.
1. What advice do you have for younger students? No matter how hard it may seem, remember to always chase your goals!
2. Who is your favorite teacher, and why? My favorite teacher would be Ms. Briddle. She is always willing to help me with anything that I throw at her and is always giving me advice!
