Each week, staff at Riverton High School nominate a student who has shown outstanding behavior towards their peers and their academics. At the end of the year, County 10 will present a scholarship of $500 to one of the students nominated! Click here to view all students.
Clay Sheets was nominated as the RHS student of the week by Shandee Andrade.
Ms. Shandee Andrade: Clay stands out for his positive attitude and strong character. He brings a great sense of humor to the classroom, which creates an inviting and enjoyable learning environment. In addition to his personality, Clay excels in athletics and demonstrates leadership within his sports teams. He is a natural leader who uplifts those around him and contributes to a positive classroom culture.
School Activities: Football, Basketball, Track and FCA
Outside Activities/Hobbies: I love to go fishing and hang out with my friends.
Student’s Plans After Graduation: Hopefully play college football.
1.What advice do you have for younger students? If I could tell all of the younger students at RHS one thing, I would tell them that giving your best in every class, every day is way more important than you think.
2. Who is your favorite teacher, and why? My favorite teacher that I have had would definitely be Mr. Taylor. He was my favorite not only because he was the best teacher I ever had, but because he is an even better person.
3. What is your favorite school subject or activity, and why? My favorite activity during my time here at RHS so far would have to be playing football. I like football because I can spend time with some of my best friends and get better every day. Even though football is a very hard sport and takes up a ton of time it is well worth it.
4. Who is your role model? What have you learned from them? I have a lot of really great role models in my life and they have all taught me a lot of things. Somebody I strive to be like every day is my brother, he has been a great role model to me helping with anything I need such as school work, advice, and most importantly a gaming buddy. Some more great role models are my parents. They have done absolutely everything they can for me and my family, and when I become a parent, I want to be just as caring as mine.
